The Asus ROG Flow X16 is a 2-in-1 laptop dedicated to gaming and multimedia. The device has all the specs for that, so you don’t have to invest extra in the XG Mobile (an external graphics card and docking station). You pay a lot for it: at least 2,299 euros.
If you previously got the X13 or Z13 from Asus, you couldn’t ignore the XG Mobile when you wanted to game. But with the Asus ROG Flow X16, the company takes a different approach. This convertible has a 16-inch screen and offers options such as the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS and Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti (100 watts TDP). In addition, the laptop supports a maximum of 64 GB of RAM, of the DDR5 type, clocked at 4.8 Ghz.
You can also equip this monster with a mini LED touchscreen that has a glass cover, as well as a maximum brightness of 1,100 nits, 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and support for the DisplayHDR 1000 standard. The resolution is up to qhd and the refresh rate reaches 165 Hertz. There are also 512 dimmable zones. The aspect ratio is 16:10 and the screen bezels are quite thin, but still have room for a 1080p webcam with Windows Hello.

The screen of the Asus ROG Flow X16 can be tilted all the way back, so that you can also use the laptop as a – somewhat thick – tablet. In addition, there is support for a stylus. In terms of port, it is also good with this model, which weighs less than two kilos. In the edges we find a USB-type-c port (4.0), two USB-a ports (3.2 Gen 2), an HDMI 2.1 port, a headphone jack and a micro-SD card slot.
Furthermore, there is support for the aforementioned XG Mobile eGPU dock, if you want to spend another hundreds of euros on a portable version of the graphics cards RTX 3080 or the Radeon 6850M XT. That misses the point of a portable device, but it’s still a handy option to have on hand.
Prices for the models
Since the Asus ROG Flow X16 is available in different configurations, there are also different prices. The version with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM will cost you 3,199 euros. If you buy the model an AMD Ryzen 6800HS, RTX 3060 and 16 GB of RAM, you will lose 2,499 euros. The cheapest model, from 2,299 euros, offers the AMD Ryzen 6800HS, RTX 3050 Ti and 16 GB of RAM. All models come with a 1TB SSD.
