Audi continues to test with RS3 Limousine

The S versions of the brand new Audi A3 are already among us, but of course we still have to wait for the RS3. He is also making good progress, but first everything has to be checked again at the Nürburgring.

More than a month ago, Audi pushed the S3 forward as the preliminary top version of last spring unveiled the new A3. Obviously, the S3 is not long at the top of the food chain, as the much more extreme RS3 is rapidly approaching. Earlier this year, witness reports showed that it again released a wonderful five-cylinder roll. This not only makes the RS3 a lot smoother than the S3 in terms of performance.

As can be seen in these photos, Audi is still doing some effort to disguise what is on and about the RS3. However, it is easy to guess what is under the camouflage. Thicker bumper work with larger cooling vents should make the RS3 instantly recognizable as the top of the A3 mountain. The oval exhaust ends are also part of the party again, so you know immediately from the rear that it is a top version. Although we see it here as a limousine, it will of course also come as a hatchback.

As mentioned, five pistons dance in the nose of the RS3. In the current model, the 2.5-liter TFSI produces 400 hp. With that, the Ingolstadter would still not hit a muddy figure, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some extra power is added. The 400 hp Mercedes-AMG A45 must of course lose out and if the 425 hp strong A45 S can also be beaten, Audi would of course like it very much. We will probably know more this year. The RS3 will find its way to showrooms next year.
