A Swiss company would like to take over Lamborghini for a considerable amount, but Audi does not seem to be waiting for it. Ingolstadt now indicates that the offer falls on deaf ears.
Tuesday brought the British Autocar The Swiss company Quantum Group AG has made an offer of € 7.5 billion for Lamborghini. It was immediately questionable whether the Volkswagen Group would have any message about this at all, since it indicated last year that it wanted to keep Lamborghini within the group and recently also presented an electric future strategy for Lamborghini.
This doubt does not appear to be unfounded, because according to Automobilwoche Audi, which bears responsibility for Lamborghini, is not planning to sell the Italian make. “This is not up for discussion within the group. Lamborghini is not for sale,” said a spokesman. Quantum Group therefore seems to be taking it flat, although it would still plan to further explain the offer to the Volkswagen Group on Wednesday.
It is not yet entirely clear what idea is behind the offer. Quantum Group is a relatively unknown name, although it can be linked to Piëch Automotive due to founder Rea Stark. Whether the car brand of the son of the Volkswagen star Ferdinand Piëch, who died in 2019, has anything to do with this offer, is unclear.
