More is not always better, but the German tuner Abt really thinks differently about that. The company injects the superlative of the Audi Q8 with a dose of extra muscle power. This is the Abbot RSQ8-R!
The superlative of Audi’s Q8 is the RS Q8, which with its 600 hp and 800 Nm strong biturbo 4.0 V8 degrades the SQ8 (over 500 hp) to a wimp. Apparently, the Audi adepts of Abt are of the opinion that the 600 hp is somewhat on the lean side. We are digitally introduced to the Abt RSQ8-R, an extreme RS Q8 that gets a nice mountain of power.
Abt screws his Abt Engine Control module into the RS Q8, a rewritten engine management system that, together with a new intercooler, ensures that the power of Audi’s sports SUV increases to no less than 740 hp and 920 Nm. 140 hp and 120 Nm more than the original. With that lump of primitive primal power, the RSQ8-R reaches a top speed of 315 km / h. The regular RS Q8 has a top speed set at 250 km / h, but those who order the Dynamic Package can thunder through to 305 km / h in its colossus.
Of course, Abbot couldn’t resist the temptation to add a series of carbon fiber aerodynamic extras to his creation. We encounter the lightweight additions at the bottom of the nose, around the wheel arches, at the side skirts and at the rear spoiler. Abt gives the RSQ8-R a modified exhaust system and puts the colossus on 23-inch alloy with special tires folded around it. Abt is only going to build 125 copies of the RSQ-R, one for every year the company is old.
The price tag of the RSQ-R is not exactly for the cat. Whoever supplies his own RS Q8-R has to tick off € 68,138 to be able to take his pimped pet child home again.
