Earlier this month, Audi pulled the curtain on the new A3 Sportback, a car that will soon be joined by a new A3 Limousine. Freak RS3 variants come from both body variants. Today we see the RS3 Limousine plowing through the snow.
Just as the new A3 Sportback does not break with the design of its predecessor in terms of appearance, the new sedan version of the A3 ‘just’ becomes an A3 with butt. That does not seem to be a bad choice, because the design of the outgoing A3 Limousine managed to get together. The new A3 Sportback is presented with a range of TFSI and TDI engines, but we still have to wait a while for the S3 and RS3 variants. The RS3 Sportback has already been caught in a camouflage suit and this time it is the new RS3 Limousine that runs against the lamp.
The RS3 Limousine in these photos does not so much betray its true nature with its large alloy and spoiler work, it is mainly the two oval chutes under the rear bumper that give away the absolute top version. The outgoing RS3 has a 2.5-liter blown five-cylinder as a powerhouse, a machine that delivers 400 horsepower and 480 Nm on the road through all four wheels.
What the new RS3 will power is not yet entirely clear. The enthusiast would of course like to see the five-cylinder return, although a smaller power source with electrical support would certainly be more efficient on paper. How the drivetrain will look exactly, is therefore still unknown. In any case, it is certain that Audi has the AMG 45 S versions of the Mercedes-Benz A-class and CLA in its sights, cars with a 421 hp 2.0 under the hood. So do not be surprised if Audi gives the RS3 against the 330 hp.
We expect the new RS3 Sportback to be unveiled later this year. This RS3 Limousine will follow shortly after the launch of its hatchback brother.
