While the Audi A3 Limousine unveiled today draws a lot of attention, Audi is testing the sportiest version of the A3 Sportback at the Nürburgring. The RS3 makes its rounds on the famous circuit.
With the arrival of a new generation Audi A3, it is of course a matter of time before an RS3 shows up. Even before the A3 was unveiled, it gave a sign of life. Also as RS3 Limousine, by the way. Now that there are no surprises to hide with the A3 in terms of appearance, the RS3 also drops some camouflage. The nose and rear are still well packed, but the large air intakes and the thicker bumper work nevertheless stand out. The huge disc brakes and the two oval exhausts clearly show that we are dealing with the sporty top version here.
Audi is still under the hood what can be expected in the motor area. Whether the 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo of the current generation returns, is therefore not yet certain. Unfortunately, it is not clear to us whether a five-cylinder roll could be heard when passing this test-RS3. So for the time being that will remain exciting. In any case, count on the RS3 to get more than 400 hp again, regardless of the engine. With that, the Mercedes-AMG A45 has to make life miserable.
