Audi RS6 Avant Performance

Especially for those who are no longer enthusiastic about the 600 hp that the 4.0 V8 that the Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback generate, Audi has developed an extra powerful version of its sporty bangers. We welcome: the Audi RS6 Avant Performance and the Audi RS7 Sportback Performance.

If we forget the almighty R8, the Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback belong to the absolute sporty top of Audi. The current versions both have a 600 hp and 800 Nm powerful 4.0 V8. The eight-cylinder, equipped with two turbos, is further increased for the new RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance.

In the RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Sportback Performance, the 4.0 V8 kicks it up to 630 hp and 850 Nm. This makes them 30 hp and 50 Nm stronger than the regular RS versions. With that extra muscle power, the two thunder in 3.4 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. This makes them 0.2 counts faster than 600 hp original versions. Switching is done with the well-known eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission that switches even faster than the regular transmission. Audi Sport also makes the steering a bit stronger and the center differential is lighter, according to Audi. Up to 70 percent of the power goes to the front axle, while the rear axle can get up to 85 percent of the 630 hp and 850 Nm.

The RS pair is not only more powerful, but also marginally lighter. Audi uses less insulation material in the interior, in the engine compartment at the rear of the cars. The result: a weight reduction of 8 kilograms. The RS6 Avant Performance weighs 2,090 kilos, the RS7 Sportback Performance weighs 2,065 kilos. The RS Dynamic Package with which you can increase the top speed to 280 km / h in the regular RS versions is standard. If that is not enough, you can order the RS Dynamics Package Plus, which increases the top speed to 305 km / h. Carbon-ceramic RS brakes are also included.

The two special versions are standard on 21-inch aluminum ten-spoke wheels. Audi optionally supplies 22-inch light-alloy models in metallic black, matt grey, matt black or ‘neodymium gold’. The special lightweight slippers provide the cars with a weight reduction of 20 kilograms. Regardless of the chosen wheels, Audi Sport Continental folds Sport Contact 7 rubber around them. More changes? Secure. For example, the ‘side function’ is now only activated in Efficiency mode at a speed of up to 160 km/h.
