In and out

Audi is making changes to the Q2. It is mainly being updated in terms of infotainment, but Audi is disappointing fans of the MMI rotary knob in the center tunnel, because it is disappearing.
The now eight-year-old Audi Q2 went under the knife at the end of 2020 and is now undergoing a minor refresh. This time the changes only apply to what you find in the crossover. There you will find both more and less. Previously, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instruments were only part of the standard equipment from the Advanced Edition. Soon every Audi Q2 will have the 12.3-inch digital clock shop.
Audi Q2: now more generously equipped, but now always without MMI rotary knob.
Audi’s screen fever also manifests itself in a second way. The basic version of the Audi Q2 previously had to do without the 8.3-inch infotainment screen. This is now being replaced by a larger one with a diagonal of 8.8 inches and is now standard on every version. So also on the basic version. The infotainment system can be controlled by touching the display and you can give commands by talking to it. Unfortunately for enthusiasts, the round MMI control knob in the center tunnel (photo 5) has disappeared. The round rotary/push button has made way for a small storage space.
Audi is also installing a new steering wheel in the Q2. That is again a three-spoke steering wheel, although the bottom spoke is largely cut in half. The list has also been expanded to include passive and active safety systems that are standard on the Q2. From now on, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and rear parking assistance are always present.
It is not yet known what the Audi Q2 will cost after its technical overhaul.
