Automobili Pininfarina recently looked ahead to its future with the Pura Vision, now the first model designed according to that design language is already here. This is the Automobili Pininfarina B95, a very exclusive and absurdly fast electric hypercar without a roof.

Just over two weeks ago, Automobili Pininfarina grabbed all the attention with a striking study model, the Pura Vision, but now the Italians are back in the spotlights. This time with a car that actually goes into (limited) production and that borrows some style elements from the Pura Vision. In Monterey, where the Monterey Car Week is currently taking place, the curtain goes down on this Automobili Pininfarina B95. A very special two-seater with technology that is familiar to us.

Although the B95 – where the B stands for Barchetta and the 95 for the age of the design house – in terms of appearance which has influences from the Pura Vision, it mainly harks back technically to the Battista. The electric hypercar presented in 2019 releases 1,900 electric horsepower and 2,340 Nm on the asphalt and those figures also belong to this B95. The open two-seater thus accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in ‘less than two seconds’ and has a top speed of ‘above 300 km/h’. Well-known figures again, but all the more impressive that this open car without a full windscreen can match the more conventional Battista.

It is also quite a big boy, with its 4.91 meters in length and 2.04 meters in width. Automobili Pininfarina does not report the weight, but you can bet that it will also be quite appropriate. After all, it contains a battery pack with a capacity of no less than 120 kWh. To reduce the weight somewhat, the body is made entirely of carbon fiber and aluminum is often used for the chassis. Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with six pistons per disc should be able to calm things down quickly and the 20 and 21-inch wheels (front and rear respectively) are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires.

The affinity with the Battista is also clearly evident in the interior of the Automobili Pininfarina B95. In fact, the dashboard seems to have been transferred largely unchanged from the Battista, although it is slightly more open in some places. The color scheme of the interior and exterior can be quite adapted to the customer’s wishes, because this is a car of which no one will be the same as another. Only ten are made, entirely according to the taste of the undoubtedly wealthy people who order it. It is not known how much they lost. The Automobili Pininfarina Battista already costs around 2 million, this B95 will probably go over that.
