Electric Skoda 2024 got much more power and more range.
After the Volkswagen ID4, the Skoda Enyaq will also have a new powertrain. This makes the electric SUV better in all areas. Roy took it around the block.
The Skoda Enyaq has been renewed? I don’t see much of it
Understandable! The biggest changes are subcutaneous. The car received, among other things, a new electric motor on the rear axle, which is a lot more efficient than the version it replaces. The result is lower consumption and a better range. The WLTP score went from 540 to 565 km for the 85 version, which replaces the 80 variant. However, in practice the difference is greater than that.
Did the Skoda also get more power with that new engine?
And or! It was 204 hp and now 285 hp. This means that the 85 version has almost as much power as the outgoing RS version, which had just under 300 hp. That is why it has been given 340 hp. Not much changed for the 60 variant. Remarkably, the 4WD version of the 85 does have two electric motors, but no more power. It doesn’t matter much, because that version is not yet available in the Netherlands. Some figures may seem familiar to you: in short, the Enyaq has been given the powertrain of the new Volkswagen ID7.
Can I still see the changes to the Skoda Enyaq?
As mentioned, there is little different on the outside, except that the ‘iV’ has disappeared from the name and the logo on the back has been replaced by letters. On the inside it’s a different story. The car received a new multimedia system, which is clearly better than the version it replaces. And we thought the Enyaq was better in that respect than Volkswagen’s brother ID4.
Do you feel it while driving?
You will of course immediately notice that it is faster, but it is also noticeable that Skoda has tinkered with the chassis a bit. The Sportline version that we drive is a little closer to the asphalt, but the whole car feels a bit more refined and drives clearly better than the one before the facelift.
