AVG also provides advice on your computer’s performance. Every now and then a window will suddenly appear while using the computer, for example stating that a certain program is using a lot of memory. You can accept these notifications for notification, but you can also follow the advice that AVG gives. That is your choice. If you do not know exactly what the message is about, or you do not understand what the intention is, then it is better to ignore those messages.

A trial version of the paid version of AVG is continuously displayed in the main AVG window. If you click on it, this trial version will be downloaded and you can use AVG’s paid services for free for 30 days. At the bottom of the main window, you’ll see how many days your trial will end in with a “Buy Now” or “Unlock Now” button next to it. However, it is not necessary to switch to the paid version, the free version offers sufficient protection.

AVG will now protect your computer against viruses. You do not have to take any action yourself for this. In most situations it is not necessary to start a scan yourself. One reason to do this is when unexpected things happen on your computer. Think windows you can’t identify or crazy notifications. To rule out the possibility that it is a virus, start a scan manually in that case.

You may occasionally receive a message that AVG files need to be updated. It is wise to follow the instructions to do so. No further action is required from you. Despite the presence of an antivirus program, it is wise to pay close attention when surfing the Internet and not just click or download files if you do not know exactly what it is or where it comes from.
