Travel back in time with Street View from Google Maps and see how a street has changed over the past ten years.
Street View
The street scene changes quickly. What was a run-down neighborhood a few years ago has now been transformed into a hip neighbourhood. And where only a view over the river was possible, there is now a spectacular bridge. The other way around is of course also possible: that nice shop on the corner of the street where you did your shopping for years, has suddenly disappeared. If you want to respond to your nostalgic feelings, travel back in the past with Google Maps. Scroll through Street View footage that stretches back up to ten years and sees how a place has changed over the years.
Travel through time
- surf to www.google.nl/maps to start the time travel.
- Click on the location you want to view.
- A photo with the address appears at the bottom. Click on the picture.
- The most current version of Street View appears. In the top left corner is the address and date of the recording with a clock icon. Click on the clock.
- Drag the slider across the timeline to a desired year.
- Click on the photo above the timeline to display the photo full screen.
