Not so long ago, the top 10 most popular cars were dominated by electric models with 4% and 8% addition. In the top segment, we now see that the EV is no longer dominant. Is that due to the more limited addition benefit? With an addition of 12% to an amount of €40,000, we see that the difference between an EV and a fuel car is only a few tens per month.
The EVs that do make it to the business driver show a range of 500-600 kilometers. With the option of fast charging, the Polestar 2 (10) and the Ford Mustang Mach-e (4) will get you back on the road in no time. In addition, the appearance of these cars also attracts attention and the electric drive is perhaps an afterthought.
Give me some German luxury
The brands that are currently doing really good business with business drivers are of German origin. BMW, Audi and Mercedes have been well represented in this segment for years, but last year saw that other brands with electric models also took part of the market. This time, the indispensable classics in this segment, the Audi A4 (8) and Mercedes C-class (7), are able to maintain their position. BMW even realizes an increase and manages to add no fewer than four models to the list of most registered business cars. The 3 and 5 series are joined by the X3 and X5.
