The birch hair tonic obtained from the trunk of the birch is said to help with hair loss and irritated scalp. In this article we explain how birch water works on the scalp and hair.
Birch hair tonic is applicable now as a popular hair care product that men and women can use alike. Most of all, it is said that birch hair water could counteract hair loss.
But you can also test birch hair water for other problems with your scalp or hair.
This is how birch hair water should help
- Birch water is said to be Combat dandruff on the scalp. Dandruff is caused by disturbed sebum glands that either produce too much or too little sebum. If too much sebum is produced, oily flakes are deposited as yellowish pieces on the scalp. If too little sebum is produced, the scalp will slowly dry out and the dandruff will loosen as a result. Birch hair water supposedly regulates and normalizes sebum production.
- Some people also use birch hair tonic for hair loss. The water from the birch is said to have a balancing function and to slow down hair loss. However, it cannot be considered a miracle cure and consequently does not make any bald spots “disappear”.
- As we will explain to you in detail in another post, yeasts are one of the effective microorganisms. A certain fungus accumulates on the scalp and does not cause any discomfort there. But: As soon as the scalp comes into contact with germs, the fungus reacts and the scalp causes discomfort from then on. This is why you can also use birch hair tonic on an irritated scalp, as it is supposed to rebalance the relationship between germs and fungi and balance the fluid balance on the scalp.
- Furthermore, the birch hair water is said to have a circulation-promoting effect. Thus, it could also strengthen fine hair and create more volume.
Birch hair tonic: how to use it correctly
The best way to use birch hair tonic is to combine it with your (daily) hair wash. Proceed as follows to use the birch hair water as a supplementary care:
- Shampoo your hair as you normally would and then rinse it thoroughly.
- Rub the wet hair until it is damp, then divide it into coarse strands. Now you apply the hair tonic straight from the bottle.
- Massage the birch hair water into your scalp using circular motions.
- Let the water sit for five minutes. Then either rinse or leave it in and dry your hair as normal.
Important: If you use birch hair tonic, you should prefer a product without alcohol. Because alcohol also irritates the scalp, it can promote itching and thus cause sore spots.
The effect of birch hair water has not been scientifically proven
the ingredients of birch water – among other things potassium and vitamin C – should be responsible for the positive effect. However, this has not yet been scientifically proven. In any case, when you use birch water, you are using a natural product that cares for the hair and is a good alternative to chemical care products. If you massage the birch water into your hair, you will also experience an effect that promotes blood circulation.
Of course, the birch hair water, which provides you with plenty of nutrients, is not a miracle cure that immediately makes all dandruff and bald spots disappear.
