Block Phone Number on iPhone and Android Phone

Do you no longer wish to be reached for a specific telephone number because you do not wish to be contacted? Then block the number on the mobile phone.

Blocking a phone number works differently on every phone. Below is how to do this on an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S6 (Android 7), Samsung Galaxy S7 (Android 8) and Samsung Galaxy S10 (Android 9).

  • Open the app Telephone.
  • Tap at the bottom Recent.
  • Next to the number you want to block, tap the circular i icon.
  • Tap at the bottom Block this caller.
  • Open the app Telephone.
  • Tap on Recent.
  • Tap the number you want to block.
  • Tap below Facts or the circle icon with i.
  • Tap the three dots icon in the top right and then block number. For Android 9.0, tap at the bottom right To block.
  • Tap on To block.

You cannot block calls where the phone number is not recognized. If you are being harassed by an unknown number, inquire with the provider (the provider of your mobile subscription) about the possibilities to prevent unwanted calls.

Companies can also call you unsolicited. How to limit this can be found in the tip ‘Sign up with the Do Not Call Register’.
