BMW makes updates to the range of delivery

A few times a year, BMW makes a series of updates on various models. This time, the brand will let you know what it plans to do next spring. The 4 Series Coupé gets six-cylinder diesels, but there is more.

Mountains of BMW news today. The brand has just launched the M5 CS and added new plug-in hybrids to the 3- and 5-Series range. However, it does not stop there. The international delivery range of the 4-Series Coupé is expanded with two new six-cylinder diesels.

4 series

The 4-series Coupé comes on the market as 340 hp and 700 Nm strong M440d xDrive. This M Performance diesel has a capacity of 3.0 liters and is linked to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. With this lump of diesel power, the all-wheel drive 4-series Coupé M440d xDrive sprints to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. An M differential is also standard. Average consumption is set at 5.7-6.3 l / 100 km. The M440d is not the only self-igniter, there is also a 286 hp and 650 Nm strong 430d xDrive. This is also a six-cylinder. With this diesel heart, the 4-series Coupé reaches 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds. Average consumption is set at 4.8-5.1 l / 100 km. Both engines are mild hybrid and have a 48v starter generator that is able to deliver an extra 11 hp during acceleration.

BMW is also expanding the color range with the Individual colors Brilliant White, Frozen Portimao Blue and Frozen Deep Gray. The brand is also adding a carbon fiber roof to the option list, which is also available on the 3-series M340d xDrive and M340i xDrive.

2 Series Gran Coupé

The international delivery range of the 2 Series Gran Coupé is expanded with a four-wheel drive variant of the 2 Series 220i introduced in September last year. This 178 hp and 280 Nm strong version is only available in combination with a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. A sprint from standstill to 100 km / h manages to do the 220i xDrive Gran Coupé in 7.1 seconds. Average consumption, according to the manufacturer, is 6.5-7.3 l / 100 km.

And further …

The spring updates that BMW is making on its models also include many small yet interesting additions. For example, the 7-series is now equipped with Integral Active Steering as standard, which allows the rear wheels to steer in the opposite direction from a speed of less than 3 km / h. The X5 and X6 and their M versions can now be dressed with darker Shadow Line headlights and the M8 Competition models benefit from the arrival of special M Carbon bucket seats. The M3 and M4 Coupé will get a new paint color, Skyscraper Gray.
