BMW recently solved a machine gun burst of car news. The 4 Series Coupé gets two new six-cylinder diesel engines, mild hybrid machines of which the M440d is absolutely dominant. Techzle can be the first to release the prices of both the M440d xDrive and the 430d xDrive.
Until recently, the diesel range of the BMW 4-Series Coupé consisted only of the mild-hybrid 420d, the 190 hp and 400 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder diesel engine that temporarily delivers 11 hp extra thanks to electrical assistance. The 4-series Coupé is also available with two six-cylinder diesels: the M440d xDrive and the 430d xDrive.
The M440d is a so-called M Performance version, a car in which BMW’s M department has been involved. The M440d is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder with a base of 340 hp and 700 Nm. This top diesel is also equipped with mild-hybrid technology that is able to temporarily deliver 11 hp. The six-cylinder is linked to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. Anyone who wants to get the all-wheel drive M440d Coupé to a speed of 100 km / h as quickly as possible, weighing around 1,900 kilograms, only needs to hold the accelerator pedal against the ground for 4.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. Average consumption is set at 5.7-6.0 l / 100 km. BMW asks € 88,922 for the M440d Coupé. The 4-series Cabrio does not seem to get the M440d diesel version for the time being.
BMW 4 Series M44d xDrive
Would you like a 4-series with a six-cylinder diesel engine, but it doesn’t have to be an M Performance model? Then opt for the 430d xDrive. This all-wheel drive variant has the same mild-hybrid 3.0 as the M440d xDrive, although the machine in the 430d is 286 hp (+11 hp) and 650 Nm strong. The 430d xDrive launches to a speed of 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds and also only stops at 250 km / h. The average consumption of this 1,855 kilo 4-series Coupé is set at 5.2-5.5 l / 100 km.
An M differential is also standard. Average consumption is set at 5.7-6.3 l / 100 km. The M440d is not the only self-igniter, there is also a 286 hp and 650 Nm strong 430d xDrive. This is also a six-cylinder. With this diesel heart, the 4-series Coupé reaches 100 km / h on the clock in 5.1 seconds. Average consumption is set at 4.8-5.1 l / 100 km. Both engines are mild-hybrid and have a 48v starter generator that is able, among other things, to deliver an extra 11 hp during acceleration. Its starting price is set at € 69,485.
