The Bugatti Baby II, an electric scale model of the 1924 Bugatti Type 35, is for sale again. Due to the corona crisis, some production sites have become vacant, the French manufacturer announced on Friday. The mini car, which was previously sold out, is about 25 percent smaller than the original and costs at least € 30,000.
All five hundred available copies of the Baby II were immediately pardoned at the announcement, but due to the corona crisis, some reservation holders have abandoned their production site. That is why a number are now for sale again. The Baby II was announced in March last year as the successor to the 1926 Bugatti Baby, a car that founder Ettore Bugatti built for his youngest son Roland at the time. Just like in 1926, the 2020 model has the appearance of the legendary Bugatti Type 35, which with about two thousand wins was still the most successful racing car in the history of motorsport.
The Baby II has two driving modes; one for children and one for adults. In the first mode, the power is limited to 1 kW, with that power the car reaches a top speed of about 20 km / h. Adults are provided with 4 kW and a top speed of 45 km / h. Under the skin is a 1.4 kWh battery pack, which will take you about 25 kilometers away.
In addition, a so-called Vitesse version of the Baby II is for sale for € 43,000. This version has a battery pack of 2.8 kWh and a power of 10 kW. The top speed of the Baby II Vitesse is 70 km / h. As with the Veyron and Chiron, the maximum power can be used with a so-called ‘Speed Key’. The range is about 50 kilometers.
The top model is the € 58,500 Pur Sang version. In that case, the body parts do not come from a 3D printer, but the aluminum body is made by hand.
