The emoji of a bullet fish is suddenly increasingly used. But why has the interest in this fish suddenly risen like that?
Bullet fish emoji now has a secret meaning (you need to know)
Perhaps you have noticed that you increasingly see a bullet fish emoji in reactions to X, YouTube and Facebook. This is due to a promotion from Stichting Advertising Code (SRC). The emoji of a bullet fish must warn about misleading advertising on social media.

On the internet it is full of advertising full of false promises. Think of advertisements to quickly become rich or useless health products promoted by well -known Dutch people (without permission). According to the SRC, these kinds of advertisements are still too common.
That they have opted for a bullet fish is not very strange. These fish make themselves full -round when there is a danger. By using this emoji When a misleading advertisement is shown, other people can also be warned quickly and easily.
The campaign is aimed at companies, but also on influencers. The SRC says that many influencers are already adhering to the rules, but that there is still a lot of deception online.

Not only the placement of a bullet fish emoji helps to prevent this kind of false advertising (and hopefully to stop). Also submitting a complaint to the Advertising Code Committee (RCC) helps to prevent these practices.
Nice promotion, but not the real solution
How well this tactic will work is still to be seen. Everyone can of course post any emoji in response to an advertising video. Whether it is actually a misleading advertisement remains a second.
Yet it is a handy action. This allows the SRC’s attention to be attracted very easily. They can then decide whether the makers of the advertising video should be called on the mat.
