Plug in dry
The advice with which you can properly prevent a frozen charging cable is simple. Make sure that the plug goes in as dry as possible. A hair dryer can also be risky in that regard. You can put a hot water bottle on the connection, which can take care of defrosting.
Charging cable and frost especially with drifting snow
In fact, drifting snow in particular is a potential problem for the charging cable because it blows, melts and gets stuck again everywhere. Try to park the car sheltered, that usually helps a lot. So perhaps with the nose forward if you stand between two houses and plug in the plug at the front. That is often better sheltered than on the street.
