ChatGPT and iPhone: really a match made in heaven?

ChatGPT is the hot topic of the moment in the tech world. Parties such as Google and Microsoft are therefore fully committed to the AI chatbot. But how do you make it work flawlessly on your iPhone? We tell you how to make your own app.

It’s almost inevitable that you’ve heard of ChatGPT in the last few days/weeks. It’s a chatbot that you can make do anything. It provides answers to almost all your questions and can write texts and emails for you. He does all this on the basis of AI, or artificial intelligence. Logical that you also want to test this on your iPhone, but how do you do that?

A private ChatGPT app on your iPhone

Although Apple is not yet coming up with its own AI chatbot, it is possible to use the service on your iPhone. You can of course visit chat.openai.com on your device, but there’s an even easier and more enjoyable way to use it, thanks to YouTuber Tim Harris.

Unfortunately, there’s no official ChatGPT app yet, but that doesn’t mean you can create some kind of custom app for your screen. That’s actually an extended shortcut. To do this, you need to take some steps. Don’t worry, that sounds harder than it actually is. We explain it simply for you below.

A simpler, but a bit uglier way

There is even an even simpler way on the iPhone. To do this, open the web version of ChatGPT and then click on the square with the arrow pointing up. Click on add to the home screen and you immediately have a shortcut on your screen that leads directly to the website. However, it doesn’t look that nice and doesn’t look like a real app.

ChatGPT is so popular right now that the website is sometimes overloaded. As a result, the chatbot sometimes does not work. Google and Microsoft fully embrace the novelty. While Google is building its own AI chatbot called Bard, Microsoft is building ChatGPT’s AI into its Internet browser Edge.

Now you have your own ‘ChatGPT app’ on your iPhone. This makes using the service even easier and better.
