Are you out for a new iPad? Then it might be smart to save your patience (and your money), because in October Apple will probably come with a new entry-level iPad and iPad Pro 2022.
New iPads in October
The rumor is reported by the account ‘yeux1122’ on the Korean blog Naver. It may not sound like the most reliable source, but the account has written accurate details about the then-unreleased iPad Air 2022 and iPhone 14 in the past.
On the website Naver, the account claims that the low-cost iPad will launch in October alongside an iPad Pro. This means that the iPad 2022 is not yet making its appearance at next month’s iPhone 14 event. Until now, it was assumed that the cheap iPad will be launched then.
iPad 2022: the innovations
The entry-level iPad is refreshed almost every year – this year it is already the tenth generation iPad. According to previous rumors, the iPad 2022 will have a new design with flat edges and a larger screen. The home button seems to disappear; the fingerprint scanner is then integrated in the on/off button, just like with the iPad Air and iPad mini.
Other innovations of the entry-level iPad are an A14 Bionic chip, 5G support and a USB-C port. This makes the 10th generation iPad much like the current iPad mini, but in a larger size. In the rumor circuit, there is talk of a display of 10.5 or 10.9 inches.
Improvements iPad Pro 2022
Apple is also expected to announce the iPad Pro in October. The professional tablet is enhanced by a new generation of Apple Silicon chip: the M2. It also supports wireless charging with MagSafe technology. You can read more about the new features in the article iPad Pro 2022: expectations for the biggest (and best) iPad of this year.
Incidentally, the account yeux1122 also sometimes shared information that turned out to be incorrect, including a rumor about an iPad mini Pro. We don’t completely rule out the possibility that Apple will announce the entry-level iPad as early as September. We do not expect the iPad Pro 2022 until October or later.
