Cheapest new passenger car in the Netherlands, more expensive

Dacia Sandero remains the most affordable

Cheapest new passenger car in the Netherlands, more expensive

The Dacia Sandero was the cheapest new passenger car in the Netherlands last year. The down-to-earth Romanian seems to retain that title in 2024. However, the Dacia Sandero will become more expensive in 2024, just like almost every other car.

More than 17 grand. Nowadays you pay that for the cheapest new passenger car you can buy. The Dacia Sandero was still on the price list for €16,700 in 2023, but now changes owners from €17,200. The starting price of the Sandero has therefore increased by €500 compared to last year. For that €17,200 you get the Dacia Sandero with TCe 100 Eco-G drivetrain, the 100 hp 1.0 with five-speed manual transmission that, in addition to petrol, also takes LPG. The starting price applies to the Essential version. It has electric windows at the front, but no air conditioning. The Sandero with this power source is also available as an expression. It has become €600 more expensive than it was in 2023 and is now €19,050 in the order books.

Would you prefer a Dacia Sandero with a conventional petrol engine? Of course this is also possible, although you cannot go for the Essential version. Dacia offers the TCe 90 three-cylinder engine from the Expression version onwards, a 91 hp powerful petrol engine that costs €19,700 with a five-speed manual transmission and changes owners from €22,350 with a CVT. They have become successively €800 and €1,000 more expensive than last year.

Higher on Dacia’s indulgence ladder is the Sandero Stepway. Just like the regular Sandero, this more adventurous Sandero is available with an Eco-G LPG machine and with the 91 hp TCe 90. In addition, Dacia only offers the Sandero Stepway with a 110 hp 1.0 TCe petrol engine. The Dacia Sandero Stepway TCe 100 Eco-G – with six-speed instead of five-speed – is available as Essential from €20,400 and has become €750 more expensive than last year. The Sandero Stepway does have standard air conditioning in basic trim. In Expression trim you will pay €21,450 for a Sandero Stepway with LPG drivetrain, also €750 more than last year. From the Expression version, the Sandero Stepway is also available with TCe 110 (€22,450) and with TCe 90, which in this case always has a CVT (€24,750). The Sandero Stepway is also available in Extreme trim and as Up&Go.
