Check AppleCare and warranty status of all Apple devices linked to your Apple ID

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, you can easily view the AppleCare and warranty status of all devices linked to your Apple ID. This way you immediately know where you stand.

When you buy an Apple product such as an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or AirPods, you receive a standard 1-year extended warranty on manufacturer defects and hardware problems and is separate from the statutory warranty. When you purchase an Apple product, or shortly thereafter, you can purchase AppleCare+, which entitles you to an extended warranty.

Standard AppleCare warranty

When you purchase an Apple product, in most cases you have an AppleCare warranty for the first year. This is a stripped down version of AppleCare+. For example, you receive telephone support for the first 90 days and (limited) coverage is provided for damage caused by production errors and actions by Apple.

In the first year, Apple usually does not make a fuss about problems, at least if you purchased the product from them. If you buy your iPhone or Mac through an Apple Premium Reseller, webshop or telecom provider, you must always contact them first.

What is AppleCare+?

AppleCare+ can best be described as insurance from Apple. For a one-off amount you get two years of support (including iPhone / iPad / Apple Watch) and three years (Mac) and you can have repairs carried out much cheaper. In addition, you can have your Apple product repaired at an affordable price at least twice a year if the damage was caused by an accident, something that standard AppleCare does not cover. The AppleCare+ insurance consists of various components and items to which you are entitled, click here to check coverage and current conditions.

Legal guarantee

AppleCare+ is not a requirement, as you also have a 2-year consumer warranty. However, you have to go after everything, which is not the case with AppleCare+. You will be helped immediately without any hassle and therefore pay to receive some kind of luxury treatment. You will always be helped by Apple (worldwide) itself or via a premium reseller. Actually, this should always be the case, but that is another discussion.
