Sedan enthusiasts and Citrophiles pay attention. Citroën reports that it will introduce a completely new sedan to the world later this year.
Put a big red circle on the calendar around June 30, the date when Citroën presents a completely new sedan for the C-segment. Although Citroën says little about the model, it does indicate that the car fits within the electrification strategy of the brand. In any case, count on the arrival of a (plug-in) hybrid variant, although a fully electric taste cannot be ruled out, of course.
Citroen has been playing with the idea of finally providing the C5 with follow-up. However, that car does not fall into the C-segment, the category in which the announced newcomer of Citroën will operate. It is therefore quite possible that Citroën will show the successor to the C4 (Cactus) at the end of June. But does that make it a sedan? Previously, with a few exceptions, that body variant was not common for a C4, but spy footage of a packed mysterious Citroen shows that a crossover is underway with a slightly sloping roofline. Should this car get a sedan valve despite its high construction, it could just be the car that will be presented at the end of next month.
So there is still little to say with certainty, but Citroen promises to provide a little more clarity in the run-up to the unveiling. We are curious!
