Looking for a nice steering, reasonably smooth and also rare car? Then this Citroën AX GT might be worth a look! A nice sporty version of a car that you almost never see again.
There are quite a few small French cars that even at a relatively old age can still be seen everywhere and nowhere. Think, for example, of the Peugeots 106, 205 and 206. The Citroën AX disappeared from the streets faster. The fact that they are now really rare is also apparent from the used car range. We even find only one on our own website. That is immediately a nice one: a GT.
GT sounds a lot tougher than it actually is, but the GT was a really nice version of the AX. The little Frenchman was given various sporting characteristics as GT. For example, there is decoration on the car that gives it a little more body gives and is reminiscent of the external extras of the AX GTI. We are referring, for example, to the plastic edges around the wheel arches, the thicker front and rear bumpers, the roof spoiler and of course the special wheels. The interior is also a bit nicer than usual in an AX, thanks in part to the sports seats and of course the tachometer.
Sporty decoration, but under the hood is just the well-known 1.4 injection engine that has been in many PSA cars over the years. A four-cylinder engine that sends 75 horsepower to the front wheels. Certainly not a monster, but strong enough to get the AX from its place, weighing only 750 kilos, quite quickly. 0 to 100 km/h is beeped in 9.7 seconds if you know how to operate the five-speed gearbox. Thanks to its low weight and the carriage that slopes quite easily in bends, it can quickly feel nice and fast if you take a nice winding road with the AX.
In short, such an AX GT has the potential to put a smile on your face and this copy is probably also in pretty good shape. In the photos it still looks neat and the seller has put an extensive list of maintenance performed in the advertisement. However, the AX has worn out quite a few owners: 13 to be exact. An extra check of the history on the basis of any papers present can therefore not hurt and it seems that there is still quite a bit of documentation available. The asking price is €3,000. That is quite a lot for an AX, but in principle you get something very nice and rare here.
