Viaplay announces the new three-part documentary ‘Cody Gakpo Psalm 20:4’ about the rise of Dutch footballer Cody Gakpo. Viewers can follow Cody’s journey from the PSV years in the Eredivisie, his successes for the Dutch team to his transfer to Premier League giants Liverpool. The documentary series is co-produced by PSV Eindhoven and builds on Viaplay’s documentaries about Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The documentary series can be seen exclusively on Viaplay from Saturday, November 25.
Cody Gakpo
Gakpo made his debut for the PSV first team in February 2018 and became a standout player in the 2021-2022 season. The PSV player scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions in the 2021-2022 season and won the Footballer of the Year award. In 2022-2023 he became the most valuable player in the Dutch league with 20 goals and 20 assists and signed with Liverpool in January 2023, the most valuable transfer ever for his football club PSV. Cody also played a central role during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring in the Dutch team’s three consecutive group matches against Senegal, Ecuador and Qatar respectively.
