iPad Pro 2024

The most expensive iPad we were talking about is currently the iPad Pro 2024. Apple’s fastest and advanced tablet runs on an M4 chip (which is also in the MacBook Pro) with 8 GB of memory, and is available in 11 and 13 inches. The newest versions have a much thinner design: the 11-inch version has gone from 5.9 mm to 5.3 mm, the 13-inch variant even from 6.4 mm to 5.1 mm.

Are you looking for a tablet that you want to use as a laptop replacement and that is suitable for photo and video editing, then the iPad Pro 2024 is without a doubt your best choice. With a price of € 1,099, this iPad is of course not very cheap. If you need some less high performance, you can also opt for the predecessor. That is the iPad Pro 2022. However, it is hardly cheaper, so you hardly get along with that. This iPad Pro is refurbished for € 673.99.

iPad Air 2025

If you want a fast tablet to play with, for example, but if you don’t need the fastest of the fastest, then you choose the iPad Air 2025. This iPad is also available in 11 and 13 inches, and runs on the M3 chip. It is of course a bit slower than the M4 chip of the iPad Pro 2024, but also faster and more energy efficient than the M2 chip in the iPad Air 2024. That makes the latest iPad Air up to twenty percent faster than that from 2024. That is especially noticeable with graphically heavier tasks, such as playing games.

If you are a fervent gamer, we simply recommend the iPad Air 2025. This is currently available for an amount of € 634. Here too, it makes little sense to choose the predecessor, because you have to pay almost the same amount for it (it saves less than 50 euros at the moment). A refurbished iPad Air 2024 is something with a price of € 589, but actually hardly cheaper.

iPad mini 2024

The iPad Mini 2024 has an improved screen, that the problems with jelly-scrolling dissolves. This was a common problem with the iPad Mini 2021. Furthermore, the iPad Mini 2024 has a much more powerful processor. The small, handy tablet runs on the A17 Pro chip, which we also see in the iPhone 15 Pro (Max). With this processor, the device has support for Apple Intelligence. The iPad Mini has the perfect size to read, watch series or films and make notes.

You are currently buying the iPad Mini 2024 for € 540. You can save around 100 euros if you choose the predecessor, because the iPad Mini 2021 now costs € 449. If you would like to save even more, you can choose a refurbished model. You currently pay € 348.99 for that.

iPad 2025

The iPad 2025 runs on the A16 chip. That is a reasonable progress, because the predecessor has an A14 Bionic chip. Furthermore, Apple has made few changes. The tablet has the same design and screen, and we also see no improvements with the camera. The standard version of the iPad has been extended to 128 GB storage space. The tablet has no support for Apple Intelligence. If you don’t find that important, you can save a lot of money by choosing this iPad.

The iPad 2025 is your cheapest option if you want a new iPad. You are already buying it for € 369. The tablet of course has its limitations, but it is great for home-garden-and-kitchen use. You can save about seven tens if you choose Ipad 2022 for predecessor, but we do not recommend that because of the much faster chip in the 2025 version.

Which iPad is for whom?

So there are four good iPads to choose from plus possibly a number of refurbished models. Below we summarize it together:

• iPad Pro 2024: The fastest and advanced tablet of the moment. There is an 11-inch and a 13-inch version and they are available in two colors: silver and spacewart. The iPad Pro 2024 is especially suitable if you use the tablet as a laptop replacement, and plan to do a lot of photo and video editing.
• iPad Air 2025: This is a good choice if you do not need absolute top performance, but want to be able to play smoothly regularly. We do not recommend choosing the predecessor. After all, it is a lot slower and in terms of money it saves you less than 50 euros.
• iPad mini 2024: If you want an iPad that you can easily take with you and that has the perfect size to read, to watch series or films and make notes, then choose the iPad Mini 2024. If you want to save money, then choose the (refurbished) predecessor.
• iPad 2025: If you don’t want to spend too much and if you need a tablet for home-garden-and-kitchen use, then choose the iPad 2025. If you choose the predecessor, you save a few tens, but because of the slower chip we don’t recommend that.
