Cool: Apple’s Smart Home Display looks like the beloved iMac G4
Of the various smart home products that Apple has planned, more rumors about a Smart Home Display have emerged recently. Usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman has more to say about this in his most recent newsletter.
According to Gurman, the Apple Smart Home Display is planned for sometime next year. The Apple expert says that the device will have a hemisphere as a standard with a screen that you can place in a corner. This design of the Smart Home Display may seem familiar to you, it looks a lot like an old acquaintance: the iMac G4.
Gurman also says that the device and the screen will be somewhat smaller than the rumors say so far. According to him, the screen would be approximately the size of two iPhones lying next to each other. According to Gurman, the Apple Smart Home Display is so small because it makes it easier to place multiple devices throughout your home.
Previous rumors already said that the Home Device Display will have some iPad-like apps. This includes FaceTime, Notes and Calendar. The screen can of course also show your photos and videos.
In addition, it becomes a kind of hub for all your devices in Apple Home. According to Gurman, it is also possible that there will be speakers in the base of the device, with which you can use it as a kind of HomePod (€ 327.95).
In addition to the Apple Home Display, which will resemble an iMac G4, Gurman explains another device. According to him, Apple is working on a larger screen that is attached to a robot arm. This screen could identify and track people as they walk through the room. But this more expensive version is not on Apple’s schedule until 2026 at the earliest.
