Due to the European factory closings of the past period as a result of the corona crisis, the production loss is now far above the million cars.
Since the first factory shutdown, 1,465,415 cars have not been built, to be precise. According to a new report from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). The average factory closure now takes 18 working days.
The production strikes have so far affected more than 1.1 million Europeans in their work. This only concerns the people who work directly for car manufacturers. Suppliers of products for the automotive industry are not included in these figures.
The first factories in Europe closed in Italy, followed by many other countries and brands. The production line at the Dutch VDL Nedcar is also down. The Dutch builders of Minis and BMWs have announced today that the production stop will not be too long. Production will be resumed in Born at the beginning of May.
