Making room for the facelifted versions
Cupra introduces two new versions for both the Cupra Leon and Cupra Formentor. They have a lot of equipment and – depending on the model and version – are also up to €5,000 cheaper.
Cupra introduces two new Limited versions for the Leon and Formentor. Both models are now temporarily available in two new Limited versions. We start with the Leon, because that model also comes in two flavors: as a hatchback and as a Sportstourer.
Cupra Leon
Both will now be available as Essential Limited. That version has the 204 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain. This version is based on the Essential flavor, but is extra spacious. Full LED lighting all around, 18-inch alloys, an infotainment system with 12-inch display, three-zone climate control, keyless entry, seat heating and features such as extensive adaptive cruise control are all present. Above that is the VZ Performance Limited. It also has a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, but the 245 hp variant. The extras include 19-inch alloys, a sports steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof and additional safety systems such as Travel Assist and the Traffic Jam Assistant.
The Cupra Leon Essential Limited is available as a hatchback from €39,990 and costs €41,490 as a Sportstourer. The Cupra Leon VZ Performance Limited costs €45,490. For the Sporstourer in that version you pay €46,990. This makes them about 3 grand cheaper and better equipped than the regular Essential and VZ-Performance versions.
Cupra Formentor
The Cupra Formentor is also available as Essential Limited and as VZ Performance Limited. It will not surprise you that the first one also has the 204 hp plug-in hybrid drivetrain and that the second has the 245 hp variant. The equipment of the Cupra Formentor Essental Limited is almost identical to that of the Leon version of the same name. The Cupra Formentor VZ Performance adds things such as Dynamic Chassis Control, sports seats, aluminum pedals and black brake calipers. The Cupra Formentor Essential Limited Edition costs €42,490. That’s €3,500 less than the regular Essential version, while you get more equipment. The Formentor VZ Performance Limited costs €48,990 and is a generous 5 grand cheaper than the regular Performance version.
Why did Cupra come up with these versions and offer such a discount? This probably has to do with the arrival of facelifted versions of both the Cupra Leon and Formentor. The Spaniards already showed something of this in 2022. The facelifted Leon and Formentor have also appeared in front of our spy photographer’s lens several times. So it won’t be long before they hit the market.
