Actually nothing new

The grass always seems greener on the other side, and apparently that also applies to cars. While most Northern Europeans would rather be in Spain in January, the quintessential Spanish Cupra Terramar comes to freezing Sweden in the middle of winter.
Spanish or not, a car must be able to withstand the cold. That is why Cupra cannot avoid testing the new Terramar in Lapland, where it is even colder than normal this winter. The Terramar drove past in camouflaged form in front of the lens of our spy photographer. We don’t learn much new from that, except that the car is being tested. The Terramar has already appeared on patent sketches, so we already know what the car will look like. Moreover, the car has already appeared uncamouflaged on stage, although there are only mediocre images of it.
The spy photos confirm the image thus created. The Terramar is a neat-looking, plug-in hybrid SUV that does not differ too much in appearance from what we now know from Cupra. The headlights, for example, are very similar to those of the Formentor and Leon, although Cupra lowers the grille slightly. However, this does not remain exclusive to the Terramar, because Leon and Formentor will follow this example after a facelift.
The Cupra Terramar should not be confused with the Curpa Tavascan. The latter is a somewhat larger EV that is similar in concept and technical to the Volkswagen ID.5, while the Terramar is a plug-in hybrid that seems to share a lot with the Audi Q3, which is also yet to be launched.
