Curtain falls in 2024 for Lamborghini Huracan

Before Lamborghini introduced the Urus, the Huracán was by far the absolute sales hit of the Italians. But every success comes to an end, including that of the Lamborghini Huracán. Now we also know when.

Yesterday Lamborghini unveiled the first technical specifications of the successor to the Aventador. The model that succeeds the now almost legendary Aventador will be an extremely potent plug-in hybrid that combines a brand new 6.5 V12 with no less than three electric motors. The system power: a crazy 1,015 hp. During the presentation of the first data about the Aventador successor, Lamborghini also revealed when the Huracán will be dropped, according to Road & Track.

At the end of 2024, the Lamborghini Huracán will make way for its successor, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann is said to have said. Just like the Aventador successor, which is currently only known as an LB744, the ‘new Huracán’ will be a plug-in hybrid. It is no surprise that the Huracán successor will also go through life partly with electric propulsion. In 2022, Lamborghini already indicated that every car it sells from 2024 will have an electrified powertrain. The Urus – which has to go along for a while in its current form – will also have a hybrid powertrain. The very first fully electric Lamborghini is on the roll for 2028.

The Lamborghini Huracán came on the market in 2014 and succeeded the relatively popular Gallardo. In the Netherlands, 63 copies have been registered through the official channels. This makes it the best-selling Lamborghini in our country after the Urus (120 units). Before the Huracán finally leaves, you can undoubtedly count on a series of new special editions.
