Dainese Hekla and Sprinbok: outfits for 365 days of motorcycle season

It’s that time of year again when the leaves start to fall, the time for clothing manufacturers to focus on all-weather outfits. This also applies to Dainese, which has launched two new four-season outfits: the Dainese Hekla and Dainese Springbok. Both promise a 365-day motorcycle season, each with its own construction to make that possible.

Dainese Hekla and Sprinbok: outfits for 365 days of motorcycle season

According to the Italians, the Dainese Hekla is perfect to withstand the worst weather. The outfit is equipped with the Dainese ABSØLUTESHELL Pro 20K membrane, whatever that means. In the case of the Hekla, this revolutionary membrane is laminated to the QuickDry outer fabric.

As a result, the Hekla is not only 100% waterproof, but the material does not absorb water. This ensures lightweight wearing comfort, and no unnecessary feeling of cold as a result of a fully stuffed motorcycle jacket and motorcycle pants. To ensure extra wear resistance in places where it can make a difference, the shoulders and elbows are made of extremely wear-resistant Ripstop material.

Of course, the Hekla is equipped with several ventilation openings on the chest, back, arms and legs, with which the outfit can be turned into a summer outfit with direct ventilation on the body in no time at all. To be even more flexible with the conditions, the jacket and pants are equipped with a removable Polartec Power Air liner; in the case of the jacket, it can be worn as a separate jacket.

To satisfy even the most demanding motorcyclist, the Hekla offers various options and accessories to make it easy for the adventurous rider. A variety of storage options are available, from guaranteed waterproof pockets thanks to the Fidlock Hermetic system to quick-access “Elastic Mesh” pockets on the front and back. There are adjustment options on the sleeves, neck and trouser legs.

While the Hekla can be transformed from a hermetically sealed suit into a ventilating outfit, the Dainese Springbok approaches the theme from the other side. Thanks to a 3-layer construction, the entire outfit can be adjusted depending on the weather conditions, from a summer blowout outfit to a wind and waterproof motorcycle suit, ready for the most appalling conditions.

From the outer layer – made of wear-resistant, stretching Mugello and Duratex textile material and reinforced with suede panels on the shoulders, elbows and knees – inwards, according to Dainese, the Springbok must be adaptable to almost any weather condition. Stripped of both liners, the Springbok is a true summer outfit, with large panels that can be opened for optimal ventilation of the rider.

With the panels back in place, the suit can be made waterproof by replacing the ABSØLUTESHELL waterproof liner. In order to defy the cold in all circumstances in addition to the rain, a thermal lining can be placed, which in the case of the jacket can also be worn separately as a separate jacket.

Numerous storage compartments give you more than enough space in the Springbok to carry all your gear for your next adventure. With a special waterproof outer pocket, your phone is always at hand, without having to worry about water damage.

What both outfits have in common is the level of protection, according to Dainese even the highest level of protection. The shoulders, elbows and knees are equipped with Dainese Pro-Armor CE-Level 2 protectors, which are adjustable at the knees to optimize the fit. Optional protectors are the G-Type back and chest protectors and the flexible Pro-Shape hip protectors.

Both the Hekla and the Springbok are equipped with the Dainese Magic Connection system. This allows gloves such as the Karakum Ergo-Tek Magic Connection with a magnetic system to be attached to the sleeves of the jacket when you do not need them, for example during a fuel stop.

ABSLUTE SHELL

The Hekla and Springbok both use the Dainese ABSØLUTE SHELL membrane, which guarantees waterproofness in combination with the highest breathability. In the case of the Hekla, ABSØLUTE SHELL Pro 20K is used, which represents a water-bearing capacity of 20,000 mm.
