If you lost or forgot your bonus booklet when you went to the dentist, don’t worry. Here you can find out what you can do and what you need the booklet for.
Not only children, but also many adults are afraid of the dentist. But regular visits are important: it is advisable for adults to have a dental check-up once or twice a year. In this way, any problems can be identified at an early stage and plaque can be removed if necessary. The dentist bonus booklet offers an incentive to comply with this regularity.
By the way: in our Utopia podcast we talked about sustainable dental care. You can find the episode on Apple, Spotify, Google and Co. Or you can listen directly here:
What do you need the dentist bonus booklet for?
It’s not compulsory to have a bonus booklet – but if you have statutory insurance, you are entitled to one. The booklet not only reminds you to visit the dentist regularly, but can also help you to save money.
If you ever need a denture despite careful dental care and regular prophylaxis, you will receive a subsidy increased from 60 to 70 percent with a bonus booklet that has been kept without gaps for five years. If you have been regularly examined for more than 10 years, it is even 75 percent.
If you are privately insured, a bonus booklet is usually not standard. But there are also tariffs where you get more subsidy if you can prove regular visits. It is best to find out more about this from your insurance provider.
Lost or forgotten bonus booklet – what to do?
If you forgot your booklet when you visit the dentist, you can easily have the examination added to it the next time. If you have lost the bonus booklet, the data can be transferred to a new booklet, because the information about your last appointment is recorded in the patient file. Of course you save the practice staff work if this remains an exception.
Incidentally, since the beginning of 2022, the bonus booklet has also been available as a digital version integrated into the electronic patient file. The fixed subsidy regulation is the same here: With regular preventive care, you can continue to reduce your own share of the costs for a denture.
In combination with an appointment app, the digital bonus booklet makes it easier to prove your examinations and the problem with re-stamping becomes obsolete. The paper version of your booklet is still valid – but the entries in it can also be transferred to the digital bonus booklet.
