Do we see the new Opel Grandland or the Opel Monterey here?

Grandland successor in the cold

Opel is busy testing the successor to the Opel Grandland. The exact details of the appearance remain hidden for a while and the question is also what name he actually bears.

Last week Opel surprised friend and foe by dusting off an old name for the successor to the Crossland. It will be called Opel Frontera. That makes you think: what will happen to the successor to the Opel Grandland? Historically, the name Opel Monterey would fit well, because at the time the Monterey, also based on an Isuzu, was the higher market brother of the Frontera. So perhaps we have the brand new Opel Monterey in front of us here.

Unfortunately, Opel is still quite generous with camouflage stickers and so it is still difficult to see which design details Opel gives the Grandland successor. In any case, it is clear that the nose is completely ‘Opel current style’ with a strong dose of Astra genes. At the rear we also expect some influences from the Opel Experimental Concept. Earlier this month we showed what our illustrator expects.

In any case, it is already clear that the successor to the Grandland is on the same basis as the brand new Peugeot (e-)3008. In addition to mild-hybrid petrol power sources and plug-in hybrids, you can count on fully electric drive with about 700 km of electric driving range. We expect the unveiling in the second half of this year.
