Are you regularly called by anonymous numbers? Then there is a good chance that it is an (unwanted) seller or even criminals. Illegal sellers and criminal organizations often call a large number of numbers. In that conversation they hope to gain access to sensitive information, such as your PIN code, bank account number or other important information. There is therefore a good chance that you are dealing with scammers with anonymous callers on your iPhone.
With anonymous songs, the number recognition of your iPhone does not work. That means you can’t call the number back later. For companies and organizations, it is now forbidden in the Netherlands to call consumers anonymously. As a result, the anonymous callers on your iPhone have probably already declined considerably in recent years. However, it still happens regularly that scammers in particular call anonymously. Keep unknown songs
Apple has introduced a handy function that ensures that unknown numbers on your iPhone are automatically stopped. So the ringtone of your iPhone does not go off when calling from anonymous callers. The function is part of iOS 13, which means that most iPhones have the feature. Do you want to stop calls from unknown songs? Then switch on this function:
- Open ‘settings’ on your iPhone;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Apps’;
- Go down again and choose ‘telephone’;
- Open ‘keep unknown songs still’;
- Turn on the switch ‘Keep unknown callers’.
Have you enabled the position? Then calls from unknown numbers are filled in and sent directly to your voicemail. If you do not have a voicemail, the telephone conversation will be terminated immediately. You don’t miss any calls from anonymous callers, because a missed report of the call appears on your iPhone. In addition, the stopped call is placed in your list of recent telephone calls. So you see that you have been called by an anonymous or unknown number.

Turning off anonymous callers on your iPhone is an easy way to prevent unwanted calls. Be careful when you switch on this function, because all unknown numbers are then kept still. That also applies to the contractor, dentist, doctor or application, where you may not have saved a number. Therefore, make sure that your telephone numbers immediately put in your contacts, so that you do not miss important conversations unintentionally.
