Donkervoort F22: successor D8 GTO is bigger and more usable

Donkervoort has been building the D8 GTO in Lelystad since 2011, in all kinds of versions. However, that model series will soon come to an end and we will meet the successor: the Donkervoort F22!

Anyone expecting a huge photo gallery will be disappointed, because we have to make do with that name and some first keywords. The Donkervoort F22 will be a new model with ‘hypercar technology’ and, just like its predecessor, must offer customization. In other words: the way you want him, so he will become. The F22 is faster and more powerful than the D8 GTO, which in its recent form delivers 415 hp (or even 425) and 520 Nm and therefore pops from 0 to 100 in 2.7 seconds. The D8 GTO weighs about 700 kg, unbelievably little for a road car.

That is where the potential lies, because Donkervoort states that the F22 will be bigger and more comfortable. It must be ‘a user-friendly car for street use’, with ‘more comfort, a more spacious interior and more convenience than any Donkervoort.’ Will there soon be a kind of Bentley Continental GT ready? Not that: the weight of the Donkervoort F22 remains well below 1,000 kg despite all that comfort, Donkervoort promises. More information about the new Donkervoort, such as its powertrain and specifications, will undoubtedly follow shortly.
