The iPhone 17 series is expected to get a redesigned Dynamic Island interface. Rumors report that Apple is working on a new user experience for Dynamic Island. Whether this also means that the components are becoming more hard -up is not yet known.
Initially it was reported that Apple would merge parts for Face ID, which would make the entire Island more physically smaller, but at the moment that is still quite unclear. Anyway, if the Dynamic Island is adjusted, this is possible exclusively for the iPhone 17 models.
Smaller Dynamic Island for iPhone 17 series
The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro (Max) and iPhone 17 Air gets a smaller Dynamic Island compared to the current iPhone series. According to the well -known Insider Digital Chat Stationwho has more often shared correct details about future Apple products, Apple is working on a new user experience for Dynamic Island, but what exactly does that mean?
Hardware adjustments
The rumors are divided on the hardware side: it was initially thought that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would get a smaller Dynamic Island, but recent reports indicate that the recess probably retains the same size and shape as with earlier models. Merging Face ID parts may not seem to be an issue. A smaller cut is only expected with the iPhone 18 Pro or later. Nevertheless, rumors indicate that Dynamic Island is becoming smaller.
Software adjustments
The iPhone 17 series is expected to get a renewed Dynamic Island interface, mainly due to software adjustments in iOS 26. This would be smaller than the current version and possibly exclusively for the iPhone 17 models.
Because the Island is just as high and wide as the physical parts, the Dynamic Island will not become much smaller if it is not used, most innovation will therefore be shown when the Island is active. Think of the Face ID animation or other reports. Why Apple will not adjust this on all iPhone models is yet unclear.
Apple is expected to present the iPhone 17 series at the beginning of September 2025, after which it will become clear what adjustments the Dynamic Island will receive exactly
