Edox watches for tomorrow based on the power of yesterday

Since its founding in Switzerland in 1884, the Edox brand has been known for the class, elegance and exceptional technical specifications of their watches. Nowadays, Edox focuses more on sporty models in terms of marketing, such as the excellent Chronorally chronographs and Skydiver watches.

But of course you will also find a nice selection of classic dress watches in the Edox collection for the modern man who values experience and heritage. Because all Edox watches are focused on today and tomorrow, with the power of the past as a basis.

Therefore, first a bit of Edox history

In 1884, master watchmaker Christian Rüefly-Flury, from the Swiss watchmaking town of Granges, decided to establish his own company. His choice fell on the neighboring city of Biel, where he established his business. Rüefly was an exceptionally gifted watchmaker who knew how to refine and improve timepieces. Rüefly quickly gained fame with the Edox brand.

In 1921, after the death of the founder, the company was taken over by the banker Robert Kaufmann-Hug. This entrepreneur quickly realized that the pocket watch – which was then worn by almost everyone – was about to be replaced by the more practical wristwatch. This made Edox one of the first watch manufacturers to concentrate on the production of slim and elegant wristwatches.

Moreover, Edox has been leading the way with extraordinary waterproof (dive) watches such as the legendary Delfin since 1968, when they presented a unique crown seal with double O-ring.

Innovations from Edox: the thinnest watch with date in the world

Just like in the early days of the brand, Edox strives to produce watches that are as light and thin as possible without compromising on quality. In 1998, this effort resulted in the thinnest watch in the world with an integral calendar. They were the first watchmakers to achieve this. Even today you will find very thin watches in the Edox collection.

After about 15 years of big-bigger-biggest, thin watches are slowly becoming a trend in watchland. After all, you can read the time anywhere these days; On your smartphone, digital clocks, the time is everywhere. A high-quality, chic and elegant watch, on the other hand, is now an excellent way to profile yourself. With the latest Ultra Slim watches and chronographs from Edox you really make a style statement.

Pure, without fuss, just the essence of reductionist elegance. The only 1.4 mm thin quartz movement is housed in an extremely flat case and is attached to a bracelet made of satin-finished and polished stainless steel. The carefully crafted dial with manually applied indexes is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire glass. The seals around the glass, the crown and the back, which is securely attached to the case with four loose screws, guarantee water resistance to a depth of 50 meters.

Each link in the elegant, flexible bracelet consists of four separate elements that are precisely screwed together. The hidden butterfly clasp makes it seem as if the comfortable strap fits seamlessly around the wrist. The sum of all these parts is a beautiful watch that is only 4.75 mm thin in total!

Classic moon phase watch with a modern twist

The new Les Vauberts Automatic Moon Phase watch from Edox shows the journey of the moon in the night sky.

This special watch with a classic watch complication has a modern, elegant, sleek look. Despite the diameter of 42 mm, the watch does not dominate the wrist, thanks to the sleek design without unnecessary details.

Inside the stainless steel case is a new Edox Caliber 805 automatic movement. The sunray dial shines as if illuminated by the full moon. An aperture at 6 o’clock shows the passage of the moon phases against a starry sky, supplemented by a date window at 3 o’clock.

If you now buy an Automatic Moon-Phase or another automatic Edox watch online from € 950, you will temporarily receive an Edox watch winder from us as a gift, while supplies last.
