Electric Audi Q6 e-tron in the Netherlands

AutoWeek reader Marc did not hesitate for a moment when he came across a packed test model on Dutch soil. The camouflaged test car in question was the Audi Q6 e-tron, an electric SUV that is on its charger in these photos.

Audi fills the gap between the Q4’s e-tron and the recently renamed Q8 e-tron E-tron and E-tron Sportback with the Q6 e-tron, a brand new SUV that we expect on the market this year. Do not confuse the Q6 e-tron with the Q6, which is not available in the Netherlands. The Audi Q6 e-tron has nothing to do with that Q6. Where the Q6 is a traditional MQB-based SUV, the Q6 e-tron will be an electric SUV on the PPE platform developed jointly by Porsche and Audi, which will also house an electric Macan and electric equivalents of the Audi A6.

The PPE platform offers charging capacities of up to 270 kW, the Germans recently promised. That is not an empty promise. One of the photos snapped by AutoWeek reader Marc shows how the Audi Q6 e-tron is being charged with fresh electricity on a fast charger from Ionity with 271 kW. Count on the arrival of various electric powertrains, including perhaps more than 600 hp piece of hardware for the RS version of the Audi Q6 e-tron. Incidentally, it does not stop at the choice of various powertrains. Like the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron, the Q6 e-tron will also be available in regular SUV form and as a Q6 e-tron with a more sloping roofline.
