Dacia Spring

The Dacia Spring is currently the least expensive electric passenger car you can buy. Not only in the Netherlands you see the small EV regularly, Dacia is also doing good business elsewhere in Europe with the electric city rakker. More than 100,000 have now been sold, the brand proudly reports.

Dacia presented the electric Spring to the European public in October 2020, although it would take some time before the car actually appeared on the market. The Dutch prices of the Dacia Spring were announced in March 2021 and from that moment on, the electric Dacia was listed as the least expensive electric car in the Netherlands. It was initially in the order books from less than 18 miles. The Dacia Spring now has a starting price of €21,750, but the plugged-in Dacia is still the cheapest EV in our country. In the two years that the car has now been on sale, 108,000 copies have already been sold in Europe, Dacia reports.

The Dacia Spring was also part of our endurance test fleet.

Of those more than 100,000 Springs, 48,900 found a European owner last year. Since the introduction of the model up to and including February this year, 1,911 units have been registered in the Netherlands. Of these, 221 were delivered in 2021 and 1,401 last year. This year the delivery counter is at 289 copies. Initially, the Spring was only available with a 45 hp and 125 Nm strong electric motor, but recently you can also order the Spring as an Extreme. With 65 hp, it has a small 45 percent more power and is able to reach a speed of 100 km / h in 13.7 seconds. The 45 hp taste takes 19.1 seconds to hit 100 km / h. Both versions have a 26.8 kWh battery. The regular Spring comes 230 kilometers away with that. With a range of 220 kilometers, the Spring Extreme comes a little less far with a full battery.

Dacia indicates that three-quarters of all Springs delivered end up with private owners. More interesting Spring facts: In Europe, the Spring is in third place in the list of best-selling EVs to private individuals. Dacia itself says that the average Spring driver covers 31 kilometers every day and that an average of 5.4 journeys are made per day. Spring owners drive an average of 26 km / h, which clearly indicates that the car is mainly used in the city. For 93 percent of Spring buyers, the electric Dacia is their first EV.

Incidentally, the Dacia Spring is a version adapted for the European market of the electric variant of the Renault Kwid that made its public debut in India in 2015. The Renault Kwid also exists in more forms. For example, in the form of the Dongfeng Nano Box there is even a more upscale sister model and the model is also known as Renault City K-ZE, Renault Kwid E-Tech Electric, Aelous EX1, T1, E1 and as e30. to live.
