Electric Lexus RZ gets cheaper entry-level version

In the market for an electric Lexus that is larger than the UX? Then you can go to the Dutch Lexus dealers for the Lexus RZ. When it comes to powertrains, there is little to choose from. That may soon change.

The Lexus RZ is currently only available in the Netherlands as the RZ 450e. The four-wheel drive Lexus RZ has two electric motors with a combined power of 313 hp and, thanks to a 71.4 kWh battery, can travel up to 440 kilometers on a full charge. The Lexus RZ 450e is available as a Comfort Line from €67,495. If you find that too intense, you may have to be patient. Lexus has also presented a front-wheel drive version of the Lexus RZ in its home country of Japan. It is called the Lexus RZ 300e and we would not be surprised if it also comes to the Netherlands in the long term.

The Lexus RZ 300e has one electric motor and it is entirely concerned with the front wheels. It produces 150 hp and 266 Nm and draws its zest for life from the same 71.4 kWh battery as the RZ 450e. The Lexus RZ 300e therefore only has the 204 hp electric motor that also drives the front wheels in the RZ 450e, but logically has to do without the 109 hp unit on the rear axle. The range is 599 kilometers according to Japanese measurement data. Lexus has revised the RZ 300e’s suspension compared to its all-wheel drive alternative.

It is not yet clear if and when the Lexus RZ 300e will also come to the Netherlands.
