Electric Nio ET7 drives more than 1,000 kilometers on a single charge

Long-term ET7 is also coming to the Netherlands

Electric Nio ET7 drives more than 1,000 kilometers on a single charge

Nio’s largest electric sedan drove no less than 1,000 kilometers on a single battery charge during a practical test. We are talking about the Nio ET7, which is also available in the Netherlands, but with a twist.

The Nio ET7 is available in two versions in the Netherlands. It is available as a Standard Range with a 75 kWh battery pack and as a Long Range with 100 kWh of electric lung capacity. With the largest package in the Netherlands for the time being, the Nio ET7 has a combined WLTP range of 580 kilometers to its name. In China, the Nio ET7 will also be available with an even larger battery pack with a capacity of no less than 150 kW. It is the Nio ET7 with Ultra Long Range battery that has traveled more than 1,000 kilometers without recharging.

Important note: the practical test was conducted by William Li, founder and CEO of the Chinese car manufacturer Nio. The Nio ET7 with a 150 kWh battery covered a distance of 1,044 kilometers. Afterwards, 3 percent of the battery power remained. The trip lasted fourteen hours, including more than an hour and a half of rest breaks, Nio reports. The average consumption was 13 kWh/100 kilometers. Also interesting: according to Nio, the Nio CEO was not alone in the car, but was accompanied during the trip from Shanghai to Xiamen by the Senior Vice President of Nio and by the general manager of Tencent News.

More interesting figures about the trip? Do we have. According to Nio, of the 1,044 kilometers traveled, 957 were completed in semi-autonomous mode (Assisted Driving NOP+). The total travel time without stops was 12.4 hours. Did the Nio CEO drive at walking pace? No. According to the Chinese, the average speed over the distance of over 1,000 kilometers was 83.9 km/h. The 150 kWh package is what Nio is cell-to-packpackage (CTP), a package with compact battery cells and an energy density of 350 Wh/kg. The 150 kWh package must be applicable in every model of the brand. Important with the range of 1,044 kilometers: it is not comparable to a WLTP range that is normally communicated by manufacturers.

In a response, the Dutch importer confirms to AutoWeek that the 150 kWh batteries will also be available in the Netherlands in Nio models. It is not yet known when and in which.
