On to Corsa Electric
The electric variant of the Opel Corsa is becoming more expensive across the board. The Opel Corsa-e – or soon Corsa Electric – has a new starting price of close to €37,000. AutoWeek can report this after a look at the price list.
The prices of the electric Opel Corsa-e will go up by €1,500. That means that the Corsa-e now has a starting price of €36,999. For that amount you don’t get an Edition, Business Edition or Elegance, but a version that is simply called ‘Level 2’. The electric Corsa-e is also available as Level 3 and Level 4 and costs €37,699 and €38,699 respectively. The petrol versions of the Corsa are now also called Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4.
The Opel Corsa-e Level 2 has standard air conditioning, a digital instrument panel, a light and rain sensor, pedestrian and cyclist detection, a heat pump, cruise control, electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, an active lane assistant, traffic sign recognition, a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen and 16-inch steel wheels with caps. The Level 3 version adds electrically operated rear side windows, a height-adjustable co-driver’s seat, a center armrest, LED headlights, an automatically dimming interior mirror and 16-inch alloy wheels. Top version Level 4 offers automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, an electronic handbrake and Keyless Start as extras.
The electric version of the Opel Astra is not called Astra-e but Astra Electric. On its website, Opel no longer refers to the electric Corsa as Corsa-e, but also as Corsa Electric. The Corsa will eventually receive a facelift and we expect that the name Corsa Electric will then be applied unambiguously for the electric variant. The current Corsa-e always has the 136 hp electric motor and a 50 kWh battery, good for an electric range of up to 359 kilometers. That powertrain will most likely be improved during the facelift.
