Euro NCAP: ‘Forget the disastrous Dacia Spring. These are the safest cars of 2021!’

In a collision, the occupants of a Dacia Spring or Renault Zoe can be seriously injured. So you better be in one of the following five cars. Because, according to Euro NCAP, these are the safest new cars of 2021.

Every year, Euro NCAP drives several new cars against the wall to test their crashworthiness. The requirements are regularly adjusted. Active safety systems, for example, count more and more in the final assessment. Last year, Euro NCAP tested 33 cars, 22 of which received the highest score of 5 stars.

Best Euro NCAP scores of 2021

But of those 22 models, several stand out because they achieved the best scores in terms of safety for occupants, children, pedestrians and cyclists, and the functioning of their active safety assistants. Here are the five winners of 2021: the safest new cars on the market:

  • Mercedes EQS
  • Nissan Qashqai
  • Skoda Enyaq iV
  • Skoda Fabia
  • Toyota Yaris Cross

BMW iX and Polestar 2 as runners-up

As runners-up, the Euro NCAP mentions a number of models that also recorded excellent scores, but just fell short of the top, such as the BMW iX, Polestar 2 and Volkswagen Caddy.
