The European Jeep Renegade does not quite match the type that is on the delivery program in South America. Jeep recently gave the Brazilian-built Renegade a facelift and that includes a refined interior. Today we can show you the workplace of the revised Renegade.
The European Jeep Renegade is both ahead and behind its South American equivalent. While Jeep will soon only supply the Renegade in Europe as a plug-in hybrid 4xe and as a plug-in hybrid e-Hybrid, the Brazil-built Renegade will have to do without electrified powertrains in South America. Yet the South American Renegade also has an edge over the variant supplied here. For example, Jeep recently carried out a facelift on the ‘LATAM’ version of the Renegade, which resulted in a sharpened front and new rear light units. What seems? The workplace of the South American Renegade is also getting a makeover.
Undoubtedly, you will not be taken aback when you see the innovations in the interior of the Renegade as it is sold far away. Nevertheless, the novelties are striking. For example, Jeep screws a new and more modern-looking steering wheel into the Renegade, which we know from the Compass and from big boys such as the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer. But there’s more. In South America, the Renegades of the higher trim levels are equipped with fully digital instruments. In Europe, such a virtual clock shop is not available in the Renegade. However, the hardware and software do exist here, since Jeep does supply the Compass with such a screen.
The news of the week? No, but for those who are interested in seeing how models can differ from market to market, it might be a fun fact. It is also quite conceivable that Jeep will also install the new steering wheel and digital clocks in the European Renegade with a next model year update.
