We rarely come across car brands from Lebanon. Today we immediately have a very peculiar one. This is EV Electra, a manufacturer of electric models that look from every angle as if they were grazed by a swarm of bees.
EV Electra was founded in Lebanon in 2017 by a company called Jihad Mohammad Investments, a company of which EV Electra founder and CEO Jihad M. Mohammad is also chairman. EV Electra already shows various electric models on its website. They are – to say the least – specially designed cars, in all shapes and sizes.
Quds Capital ES
EV Electra sent out a prototype of the Quds (photo 2) in 2020, which is named after the Arabic word for Jerusalem. That test model of the Quds, an electric sedan, was optically refined this year and is now called Quds Capital ES (photos 1 and 3 to 7). He has a very remarkable appearance. The car has a Bugatti grille and a butt that is strongly reminiscent of the rear end of the Mercedes-Benz E-class, for example. The 1,500-kilo monster must be available in various two-tone color schemes and offers space for five passengers. In the floor is a 90 kWh battery pack that, thanks to two 320 hp electric motors together, provides the car with a range of 800 kilometers. In 4 seconds he sprints to 100 km / h. Its top speed: 170 km / h. Mind you, it’s all about theoretical numbers.

Quds Nostrum EE
The Quds Nostrum EE (photos 10 to 18) is the second member that EV Electra hangs from its model family. The Quds Nostrum EE is an equally striking electric coupé with wing doors. This EV also has a 90 kWh battery in its bottom. The two electric motors in this 1,200-kilo four-seater coupé produce 480 hp. Just like the Quds Capital ES, the Nostrum EE must be able to travel about 800 kilometers on a load. EV Electra writes on its website that the coupé must be able to reach a speed of 100 km / h in 3 seconds and that the top speed is 260 km / h. The chassis would be made of aluminum, while various sheet metal parts would be made of carbon fiber. A rear-wheel drive variant of this Quds Nostrum EE would also appear.

Rise
The Rise (photos 19 to 33) is another electrically powered coupé from EV Electra. The 4.61 meter long and strikingly narrow-looking Rise has a 45 kWh battery pack in the bottom that supplies the 180 hp electric motor on the rear axle. The 1,100 kilo rear-wheel drive should be able to reach about 400 kilometers and is said to reach 100 km / h in 5 seconds. Its top speed is 180 km / h. Also for the Rise applies that the design may not be everyone’s approval. According to EV Electra, the Rise has an aluminum chassis and a body made of fiberglass. The two-seater Rise, which, like the Quds Nostrum EE, is also available with up-hinged doors, is already available to order, although you have to make a deposit of 15,000 dollars. His price is said to be $ 30,000. The first copies should be delivered in 2022.

eCab
Anyone who has survived this far should read on. EV Electra also has an electric taxi available that listens to the name eCab (photos 34 to 38). That seems like a somewhat modern interpretation of pre-war American cars. The five-seater has a 45 kWh battery and a 240 hp electric motor on the front axle. Despite its shape, the eCab could shoot to 100 km / h in 5.5 seconds. Its top speed: a somewhat unbelievable 240 km / h. The range is 200 kilometers according to its creators.

Whether all EV Electra products actually come onto the market? Who’s to say. Of course, we wish the manufacturer wholeheartedly, although we continue to look for somewhat correct proportions in the designs.
