At the end of August, the Dutch Niels van Roij Design conjured up a shooting brake based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost. For the first time, the interior of the Silver Specter Shooting Brake, available in a very limited edition, can now also be seen.
The Silver Specter Shooting Brake by Niels van Roij Design is a classically lined ‘three-door station version’ based on the Ghost, but that would not do justice to the creation. With its body shape, the Silver Specter Shooting Brake looks back on that of shooting brakes of yesteryear, a body shape that Rolls-Royce paid attention to several times in its rich past. For the Silver Specter Shooting Brake, Van Roij extended the roof in a descending line further backwards, with the result that a completely new rear also had to be drawn. With its recessed rear window and the slightly protruding rear, the whole is somewhat reminiscent of cars like the Jaguar Mark VIII. Niels van Roij Design now also shows how the Silver Specter Shooting Brake, which is limited to only seven pieces, is designed on the inside.
The extended roof of the Silver Specter Shooting Brake is covered with a starry sky on the inside, just like Rolls-Royce does. The nearly 2,000 lights of the Infinity Starlight Headliner are less close together towards the rear. According to Niels van Roij Design, this gives the impression of an endless starry sky. In the back of the Silver Specter Shooting Brake there are two separate seats that are separated from each other by a thick center armrest. The feet of the rear passengers are pampered with lambswool. Even further in the back, Niels van Roij Design has covered the luggage compartment with leather in the same color combination as the rest of the interior.
Niels van Roij Design will build a total of only seven copies of the Silver Specter Shooting Brake, cars that are all tailored to the taste of the customer. Each copy is provided with a unique option. According to the coachbuilder, it can range from a unique picnic basket with veneer to an exclusive suitcase set or a clockwork. The 6.6 biturbo V12 in the nose of the Silver Specter Shooting Brake is more powerful than the standard one. Where the normal Ghost made it to 632 hp, the twelve-cylinder in the Silver Specter Shooting Brake produces 700 hp and 900 Nm. What all this may cost? To ask the question is to answer it.
