King’s Day 2021 in Eindhoven is a digital event. Follow the festivities via the internet and don’t miss out on what the king and his family experience in Brabant.
King’s Day 2021
King’s Day will look different on April 27, 2021 than other years. The royal family visits Eindhoven, but does not tour the city center. Instead, the family visits the High Tech Campus in the Brabant municipality. Everything is organized around the visit. This is largely done online. The events can be followed for everyone via the internet, just from their own living room.
King’s Day 2021 program
The mayor of Eindhoven receives King Willem Alexander, Queen Maxima and the princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane in a studio on the High Tech Campus. There the program is followed, where the broadcast of the NOS can be followed via television. The family talks to designers, they cook in a modern way and there are experiments with technology. The king and his family love music, so there’s plenty of room for that too. In addition, it is the turn of residents of Eindhoven for an online meeting with the family. King for one Day
Within Eindhoven there is the King for one Day competition. People could nominate someone who is seen as a ‘king of the neighbourhood’, for example because he or she does a lot for the neighborhood or the local residents. In online Neighborhood Battles the nominees ‘compete’ against each other. Ultimately, the seven best participants participate in the final on the day before King’s Day. The semifinals on April 21 and the final on April 26 can be followed live on Koningvoor1dag.nl from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. The winner is officially crowned on King’s Day.
Long live the King video!
Children and young people make their own short film via the free VN (vlognow) app. They congratulate the king and tell them what their wish is. On King’s Day the best videos can be seen online and the king himself will probably also see some videos.
Online program
On King’s Day itself, the full program is available on Koningsdageindhoven.nl. On the basis of a block diagram, everyone can view the parts that appeal to them. There are special guests who tell about their relationship with the king and his family, and there is a talk show with young people in which the princesses are present.
